On the afternoon of December 6, 2022, the expert review meeting of "2022 National Excellent Fire Science Popularization Publicity and Education Works Competition" was held by online video. Fourteen experts from China Fire Protection Association, provincial fire protection Association, fire rescue teams, colleges and universities, China Children's Foundation, fire protection publishing and other units attended the review meeting. The panel was headed by Zhang Heping, director of the Committee for Popular Science Education of China Fire Protection Association (hereinafter referred to as the "Committee"), and Ji Jie, deputy director and secretary-general of the committee, presided over the meeting.
Wang Pengxiang, director of the Propaganda Department and Science and Technology Department of China Fire Protection Association, delivered a speech entrusted by the leaders of the association. He pointed out that the Science Popularization Committee recently organized a number of fire science popularization activities in various forms and innovative content, and achieved a good effect of science communication. The National Excellent Fire Science Popularization and Education Works Selection Competition has been held for five times since 2018, which has been widely participated by the national fire rescue teams, scientific research institutes, universities, enterprises and institutions, and inspired the majority of fire workers and people from all walks of life to actively participate in fire science popularization and improve the research and development and creation ability of fire science popularization works. Promote the continuous development of fire science education.
At the review meeting, according to the expert letter evaluation and online voting, the review experts conducted objective evaluation and serious discussion on the primary works in accordance with the categories of graphic, video, popular science products (exhibits), popular science culture, and selected the first, second and third prizes of the four categories of works. Experts agree that the competition participants actively participate in the fire science works, diverse themes, full of creativity, close to the masses, keep up with the hot spots, play an important role in creating a good atmosphere for fire science popularization.
The list of winners will be published on the official website of China Fire Protection Association. The winning works will be commended and rewarded at the annual Science and Technology Conference of China Fire Protection Association. They will also be recommended to China Association for Science and Technology, "Science Popularization China", CCTV, China.com.cn and other media.
