Fire trucks, also known as fire trucks, refer to special vehicles that are mainly used to perform fire response tasks. Fire departments in most countries, including China, also use them for other emergency rescue purposes.

The types of fire trucks are diverse and their functions are complex. They can be classified according to different standards. According to the fire truck chassis carrying capacity, they include miniature fire trucks, light fire trucks, medium fire trucks, and heavy fire trucks; they can be divided into single bridge fire trucks according to their appearance and structure. Fire trucks, double bridge fire trucks, flat-head fire trucks, pointed fire trucks; according to the classification of fire extinguishing agents, they can be divided into water tank fire trucks, dry powder fire trucks and foam fire trucks.


Classified according to the installation position of the water pump on the fire truck: Front-mounted pump fire truck: The water pump is installed at the front of the fire truck. The advantage is that it is convenient to maintain the water pump and is suitable for medium and light fire trucks; Mid-mounted pump fire truck: Water pump installation Located in the middle of the fire truck; currently most of the fire trucks in our country use this type: the advantage is that the overall layout of the vehicle is more reasonable; the rear pump fire truck: its characteristic is that the water pump is more convenient to maintain than the middle pump; the inverted pump fire truck : The water pump is located on the side of the frame. Rear-engined airport rescue fire trucks often use this type. This arrangement can lower the center of gravity of the vehicle and also bring convenience to the maintenance of the water pump.
