According to statistics, in the fire accidents that have occurred, fires caused by electrical reasons account for about 40%, and there is an upward trend.
How did the fire burn?
When the electrical circuit has a long service life, insulation aging, poor contact between copper and aluminum wires, lack of normal maintenance, and leakage and fire, the insulation will be burnt out and cause fire. When electric heating appliances and lighting fixtures work close to flammable materials or forget to cut off the power supply after using them, if they are left on the ignition base or the residual heat is not dissipated after use, they will be put into the flammable package immediately, which will cause fire.
The characteristics of electrical fires include: electrical equipment is not connected to the power supply after being fired or caused by fire, and is still charged; some electrical equipment (such as power transformers, circuit breakers, motor starting devices, etc.) are themselves oil-filled, and may be sprayed when a fire occurs. Even the explosion caused the fire to spread and expand the fire range. Therefore, in the case of electrical fire extinguishing, appropriate measures must be taken to cut off the power supply according to its characteristics.
What should I do if the appliance is on fire?
In the event of a fire, if the fire is small, there is no big threat to the person. When there are enough fire-fighting equipment around, you should try to control and extinguish the fire. Don't set a small fire to ignore the disaster. When an abnormal phenomenon such as smoke, sparks, etc. occurs in household appliances or wires such as televisions, microwave ovens, etc., the power should be cut off at the fastest speed to find out the cause of the malfunction and save.
If the fire is fierce and there is a tendency to expand, it is too late or impossible to cut off the power supply. For live fire extinguishing, use carbon dioxide, carbon tetrachloride or dry powder fire extinguishers, or use sand, dry soil, etc. to extinguish the fire. Remember, do not use water to extinguish the fire, because the water is conductive and easy to get an electric shock. Once the flame is found on the ceiling and the fire is difficult to control, the person trapped in it will calm down and stop fighting, and should quickly evacuate and escape, and immediately report to the fire.
When the fire escapes, don't blindly follow the crowds and chaos. Be careful when evacuating, run in a bright place or in an open space outside. Don't take the elevator to escape after the fire, take the stairs through the fire escape. When there are children and old people indoors, use simple sheets and curtains to make simple life-saving ropes, and slowly descend from the window sill to the floor or the ground below, so that they can escape from danger as soon as possible. After fleeing from the fire, if the clothes are on fire, they should be taken off as soon as possible. If it is too late to take off, you can extinguish the fire on the spot.
